Ismaili have wrapped up the signing of Malian striker Mohamed Traore on a free transfer, FilGoal.com has learnt. Traore, 23, signed a three-and-a-half-year contract and is set to be presented by his new club at a press conference this week. The former Club Africain forward was on the verge of joining Sion before the transfer embargo imposed on the Swiss side, a ruling that was prompted by Egypt keeper Essam Al-Hadari's controversial switch from Ahli in 2008. It is the first deal to be sealed by the Dervishes in the winter break as they seek to shore up their frontline amid speculation that strike duo Ahmed Ali and Godwin Ndubuisi are heading out. Traore had been targeted by Ismaili's arch-rivals Ahli last winter but the Reds signed Mauritanian Dominique da Silva.
