Contractors coach Al-Gamal unworried over his future
Published in FilGoal on 16 - 09 - 2010

Arab Contractors coach Hamza Al-Gamal said he was unworried over the prospect of losing his job after the team endured a dismal run under his guidance.
The Mountain Wolves collected just one point from four Egyptian Premier League matches after the appointment of Al-Gamal.
The former Ismaili defender succeeded Mohamed Amer, who was sacked after the team suffered a 4-1 defeat by promoted Wadi Degla in their league opener.
"The reports which suggest that I will be sacked are not true," Al-Gamal told FilGoal.com on Thursday.
"The club's chairman Ibrahim Mehleb called me following our latest game (a 2-1 loss to ENPPI) and told me that he was sure I could lift the team out of the current crisis.
"Mr. Mehleb is a patient man, he does not make rash decisions.
"Anyway, even if those reports are true I will not be bothered. I'm fully focused on the task ahead of me."
Contractors lie at the bottom of the 16-team league table with one point after five games.
The club have been struggling for more than a decade after enjoying a fruitful spell in the 1980s and 1990s.
They won the African Cup Winners Cup three times and the Egyptian Cup two times but faltered after failing to keep up with the financial demands of football.
Although the club is run by huge construction company Arab Contractors, their football budget is not up to scratch.
Contractors enjoyed another fine spell, albeit a brief one, under current Egypt coach Hassan Shehata in 2003 and 2004.
They won a third Egyptian Cup title and then clinched the Super Cup at the expense of Cairo giants Ahli and Zamalek respectively.
