Arab Contractors raced into a two-goal lead within the first three minutes but still slumped to a 3-2 defeat by Military Production in the Egyptian Premier League on Saturday. The Mountain Wolves failed to give new coach Hamza Al-Gamal, who replaced the sacked Mohamed Amer, a winning start. Amer was shown the door after Contractors suffered an embarrassing 4-1 loss to promoted side Wadi Degla last week. In a frenetic first-half, Midfielder Mohamed Adel gave Contractors the lead after 50 seconds with a delightful shot from 23 yards. Nigerian striker Musa Kabiru doubled their advantage after three minutes when he robbed a defender on the edge of the area and slotted home past the advancing keeper. Production playmaker Momen Zakaria narrowed the gap on 12 minutes with a first-time shot from inside the area after being found unmarked by a right-wing cross. Contractors were stunned when defender Hazem Fathi drew Production level with a simple tap in at the far post after keeper Mohamed Al-Akabawi misjudged a cross. Former Strasbourg, Ahli and Ismaili left-back Ahmed Abou-Mosallam, who joined Production in the close season, gave his side all three points with a 36th-minute goal. He capitalized on a poor defensive clearance to send a left-footed shot from the edge of the area past the motionless Al-Akabawi. Production had defender Ahmed Zaghloul dismissed in the 74th minute but held on with ten to claim their second successive win. They defeated newly-promoted side Smouha 1-0 in their first match under coach Osama Orabi last week.
