Ghana clinched a World Cup last-16 berth despite losing 1-0 to Germany, who also reached the next round, while Serbia wasted their chance to go through by slumping to a 2-1 loss to Australia. The Black Stars will meet USA, who beat Algeria 1-0 earlier on Wednesday, in the round of 16. On the other hand, Germany qualified for the Knockout stage as Group D winners with six points. The Three-time world champions set up a round-of-16 meeting with England, who went through after beating Slovenia 1-0. Both Australia and Serbia were ousted from the World Cup after finishing third and fourth respectively. Ghana will most probably be the only team from Africa in the round of 16 as Algeria, Cameroon, Nigeria and hosts South Africa were disqualified. Ozil released a powerful shot from outside the area that hit the top corner of the net to put the three-time world champions ahead. Ghana's Prince Tagoe wasted one of many golden chances to bring the score level, when he failed to divert home a cross from point-blank range.
