Zamalek playmaker Shikabala downplayed reports claiming that he was in negotiations with Ahli over a possible deal. "It's just a rumor," he told the White Knights' official site. "I can't imagine myself playing for another team in Egypt, I'm really happy here (at Zamalek)." Shikabala, who came through Zamalek's youth ranks, spent most of his career at the Cairo club. He had a short spell at Greece's PAOK before returning to his boyhood club in 2007. It's widely believed that Ahli approached the 24-year-old more than once over the past few years but couldn't secure his services. Recently, Shikabala has been linked with an English Premier League move but so far no tangible offer has been made. Not Serious "The interest from Europe hasn't been as serious as it should be," he said. "But I'm sure that Zamalek's board won't stand in my way should a foreign side table a worthwhile bid." In 2009, Shikabala was said to be targeted by Celtic, nonetheless; the Scottish giants denied their interest. He was also tipped to sign for Serie A outfit Napoli early this year, the move didn't materialize though.
