The prospect of exiting the Champions League at the first hurdle does not worry Ahli coach Hossam Al-Badri despite a stunning 1-0 defeat by Gunners of Zimbabwe on Saturday. The six-time African champions slumped to a surprising loss in Zimbabwe in the first leg of the Champions League round of 32. They exited Africa's premier club competition last season after losing to Nigeria's Kano Pillars in the round of 16. Missing out on a place in the group stage for the second successive season looks a possibility but Al-Badri is thinking positive. "I'm not worried at all," the 50-year-old, who took over at the club last summer following the resignation of Portuguese manager Manuel Jose, said on Ahli's official website after the game. "We are capable of overturning the deficit in the second leg and qualifying for the next round." A defensive lapse allowed Gunners striker Norman Maroto to fire a low shot home midway through the first half and give the hosts an invaluable win. Ahli piled on pressure in the second half but failed in their attempts to notch the equalizer and had a late goal disallowed for offside. "It was a naïve mistake from the defenders that gifted Gunners a win," Al-Badri added. "Our strikers also failed to make use of the opportunities we had."
