David Beckham said Milan's progress to the Champions League quarter finals is more important than his emotional game against former club Manchester United. The 34-year-old will face United, the club where he blossomed in his early days to become a popular English figure, for the first time since leaving them to join Real Madrid in the summer of 2003. Both sides meet at the San Siro on Tuesday in the first-leg of their Champions League round of 16 tie. "It's one of the biggest games for me personally," Beckham was quoted as saying by Sky Sports on Sunday. "But the most important thing is the team going through and beating United which I hope we do. "I've never had to do it before like this. I don't think it'll be a big problem. I've played in many games. "Obviously there are a couple of players not here...but the team is just the same, they've got this great team spirit within the squad and that's definitely not changed." Milan coach Leonardo hinted on Saturday that Beckham was not guaranteed a place in the team's starting line-up against United. Beckham, who is on loan from American outfit Los Angeles Galaxy, is pushing for a place in England's squad for this year's World Cup finals in South Africa.
