Lierse SK have become the latest club to express an interest in signing Ismaili goalkeeper Essam Al-Hadari, the Belgian club's owner Maged Sami said on Saturday. Al-Hadari fell out with Ismaili after they rejected two bids from English side Watford and Sudanese giants Merreikh to sign him during the January transfer window. He consequently skipped training for several days following Egypt's African Cup of Nations triumph to miss out on Ismaili's 2-1 league victory over Mansoura and goalless draw with Kenya's Sofapaka in the Champions League. The veteran goalie, who joined Ismaili from Swiss side Sion last summer, could have another chance to move abroad though. "I sat down with Ismaili chairman Nassr Aboul-Hassan and discussed with him Al-Hadari's wish to play in Europe," Egyptian businessman and Lierse owner Sami, whose team boasts four Egyptian players, told FilGoal.com. "If we gain promotion to the first division we will need an experienced keeper like Al-Hadari. "Even if we do not gain promotion, we will wish to bring in Al-Hadari if he accepts to play in the second division." Ismaili chairman Aboul-Hassan said Lierse would make up their mind whether to table an offer for Al-Hadari at the end of the season. The 36-year-old claimed on his personal website that Brazilian outfit Palmeiras were also interested in acquiring his services but Ismaili said they did not receive any concrete offers.
