Playmaker Walid Soliman will not be available for Petrojet's African Confederation Cup clash at Zanzibari side Miembeni because his passport has expired. "When we were at the airport to travel to Tanzania, we found out that his passport was no longer valid," Petrojet president Tag Al-Din Moharam told FilGoal.com on Wednesday. "He will not be able to travel in time for the game. The problem needs some time to be solved." The administrative mistake of Petrojet will deprive them of a key player in Soliman when they experience African football for the first time in their history. Soliman, who missed out on Egypt's Nations Cup campaign despite being included in their preliminary squad for the tournament, has not been at his best this season but his presence remains vital for Petrojet. The team will also miss another attacking midfielder in Mahmoud Abdul-Hakim, who is nursing an injury. Mokhtar Mokhtar's side, who finished third in the Egyptian league last season, open their Confederation Cup campaign against Miembeni on Friday. "A win or a draw away from home will be a satisfying result," coach Mokhtar, the architect of Petrojet's rise to prominence during the past few years, said. "The players promised me that their poor performance against Ittihad (a 1-0 league defeat) will not be repeated against Miembeni."
