Zamalek striker Amr Zaki says he refuses to play alongside Israeli or Algerian players, denying that he's eager to join Premiership club Portsmouth as recently reported. UAE businessman Sulaiman Al-Fahim, who holds a %10 share in Portsmouth, stated that the well-built marksman 'calls him almost every week' in an attempt to seal a winter move to Fratton Park. However, Zaki referred that he would never play for Pompey, where Israel's Tal Ben Haim and Algerian international Nadir Belhadj are plying their trade. "I refused their offer before, but now joining Portsmouth is no longer an option for me," he told his personal website. "After Portsmouth signed an Israeli player and also hired an Israeli football director (Avram Grant), a possible move was ruled out. "On top of that, no way could I play at Portsmouth with an Algerian within in their ranks." The relationship between Egypt and Algeria has been deteriorating since the horrible events that followed Pharaohs' 1-0 loss to the Desert foxes in Wednesday's World Cup playoff game. Many Egyptian fans were severely injured after the game when thousands of Algerians ruthlessly chased them in the streets of Sudan with knives, daggers and blades.
