Juventus have signed Barcelona defender Martin Caceres on a season-long loan, the Serie A club said. The Uruguayan could join Juve on a permanent basis next summer if the Italian club pay Barcelona 11 million euros plus one million for variables. "With the signing of Caceres we have concluded the transfer market signings," Juventus sports director Alessio Secco said on the club's official website. "We are providing the coach with a quality defender who notwithstanding his age has already a vast international experience. "His technical and personal characteristics should guarantee a quick adaptation to the group and Italian football." Caceres, 22, moved to Spanish giants Barcelona from Villarreal last summer but was handed limited opportunities under coach Josep Guardiola.
