Real Madrid have reached an agreement with Valencia over the transfer of center-half Raul Albiol to the Bernabeu, Los Merengues said on Thursday. The Spain defender will complete the move when the transfer window opens one week from now. "Real Madrid and Valencia have reached a deal for the transfer of Raul Albiol, which will take effect next week after the mandatory physical and signing of the contract by the player," a Real statement read. The transfer fee has yet to be revealed by Real, but Spanish media reported a €15million bid was tabled to lure the 23-year-old. Albiol will be Florentino Perez's third hit this summer, following the capturing of Kaka from AC Milan and the prospected move of Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United. Real snapped up the Valencia defender after they had missed out on Spain ace David Villa, who is considered 'unsellable' by Los Ches.
