Real Madrid striker Raul has been left out of Spain's 20-man squad for the Euro 2008 qualifier against Denmark on October 13th despite his impressive start to the new season. The Spain all-time scorer, who hasn't represented his national team for over a year, netted three goals in the Primera Liga so far to help Real Madrid occupy the league's summit. However, he was snubbed by Spain coach Luis Aragones, who opted for Valencia's David Villa and Liverpool frontman Fernando Torres. Espanyol midfielder Albert Riera and Valencia defender Raul Albiol were handed their first call-up while Barcelona's Carles Puyol has been included after recovering from injury. Spain are on top of Group F with 19 points, three ahead of Northern Ireland and Sweden, who lie second and third respectively.
