Zaki shunned Wigan and not vice versa - personal adviser
Published in FilGoal on 18 - 05 - 2009

Amr Zaki's personal adviser Mohamed Saied said the Egypt striker was the one who decided to end his spell at Wigan Athletic, and not the other way around as recent reports claim.
BBC reported on Sunday the Latics opted not to extend the stay of the robust hitman, whose season-long loan from Zamalek has all but ended.
However, Saied has a whole different version of the story, saying Zaki has received a host of worthwhile offers from other Premiership sides.
"Zaki is not going to stay at Wigan for another season, but he was the one who refused to extend his deal, not vice versa," the player's personal manager told FilGoal.com.
"Four Premier League clubs have made solid bids to land Zaki, they have all offered him higher wages than that he's paid at Wigan.

Bruce was once in awe of Zaki's performances
"Zaki called on Wigan's officials to increase his wage, but they turned him down by saying there is a maximum limit for players' salaries, hence he decided to depart."
Saied referred that Steve Bruce's side also failed to reach an agreement with Cairo club Zamalek over a permanent deal.
"They had talks with Zamalek over a permanent agreement, but their offer was not good enough for the Egyptian outfit," he explained.
"Zaki's future will be determined after Zamalek's imminent presidential election. The new board will look into the other offers he has and accept the most suitable among them."
Personal Problems

Four Premier League clubs have made solid bids to land Zaki, they have all offered him higher wages than that he's paid at Wigan - Saied
In the BBC report, the quotes of Wigan manager Bruce indicates that Zaki's dip in form urged the club to snub him.
"We haven't taken up the loan agreement or the option to pursue Amr," he said
"He had big personal problems in his life, you'd have to ask Zaki why he chose to go down the path he did.
"It really is sad and we've come to the conclusion that it'd be best if we don't renew the option and get on with our lives."
Zaki, who notched 10 goals in the Premier League with Wigan, had an immaculate start to his adventure at the JJB Stadium.
The 26-year-old topped the elite competition's scoring charts for a while, but his level has deteriorated halfway through the season.
