Walid Soliman's short spell with Ahli Jeddah ended at a low ebb when his side bowed out of the Saudi Champions Cup after being held to a 2-2 home draw by Hazm on Friday. Hazm advanced to the semi-finals on the away goal rule, having drawn with Ahli 1-1 in the quarter-final first leg. Hazm's Walid Al-Jizani scored against his former club on 34 minutes to cancel out Hassan Al-Raheb's opener for Ahli six minutes earlier. Mohamed Mosaad restored Ahli's advantage in the 39th minute and matters went from bad to worse for Hazm when defender Nayef Al-Mousa was sent off three minutes after the restart. Despite their numerical disadvantage, Hazm managed to book a last-four berth, thanks to another goal from Al-Jizani on the hour mark. Egyptian playmaker Soliman, who joined Ahli from Petrojet on loan in January, was included in the starting line-up for the first time in four games after recovering from an injury. He was brought down by a Hazm defender after 16 minutes as the referee whistled for a penalty but Al-Raheb wasted it. Soliman, who lost his Egypt place after leaving Petrojet, scored one goal for Ahli in a league game against Raed earlier this month. He will now return to Petrojet after his loan spell ended.
