AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti confirmed that David Beckham will be included in the team's UEFA Cup squad. Beckham is currently on loan at San Siro from Los Angeles Galaxy until March 9th, which means that he'd only be available for no more than two UEFA Cup games. However, following some brilliant performances for the Rossoneri, Ancelotti said that the former England captain has earned a UEFA Cup place. "We decided to include Beckham in the UEFA squad," Ancelotti said following Milan's 3-0 over Lazio on Sunday.
Ancelotti "He (Beckham) is doing very well and we want to make the most of his presence for the two legs against Werder Bremen." Ancelotti added that his team's league title hopes are still alive, as the confident win over Lazio showed that Milan are improving as the season advances. "We are still six points adrift of league leaders Inter, but the team is in good shape and playing well. "We are increasing our confidence and tonight did not have the same 'pauses' as in previous games, so we can look to the future with optimism." Milan are currently second in the Serie A table with 44 points, six behind Inter and one ahead of third-placed Juventus.
