Ittihad Jeddah striker Emad Meteb proved doubters wrong on Saturday when he helped his side register a 3-2 victory over Al-Watani in the Saudi Crown Prince Cup. The 25-year-old came on as a substitute early in the second half, when the visitors were holding a one-goal cushion, thanks to Ali Seif's opener. Hisham Boucherrouane netted the equalizer for the Dean on 52 minutes, while the Egyptian international notched the second ten minutes after stepping onto the pitch.. Later on, Morocco forward Boucherrouane ensured the hosts' lead when he struck again on 76 minutes before Fouad Al-Harbi hit a last-gasp goal for the away side. Having scored on Saturday, Meteb brought his overall goal-tally with Ittihad to eight. However, Media reports mentioned that Ittihad boardroom intends to dispose of the Egyptian hitman, but the allegation hasn't been substantiated thus far. Now the Saudi giants are keeping pace with neighbors Ahli at Group B summit, while minnows Al-Watani are languishing in the bottom third place. Both Jeddah-based clubs are clashing with each other on Wednesday in the same competition.
