Nine-man Roma slumped to their third Serie A defeat after losing to Siena 1-0 while Juventus suffered a 2-1 defeat to Palermo to continue their stuttering form. Last season's runners-up Roma fell behind to Mario Frick's goal just before the break, which proved to be the winner. The Giallorossi had defenders Christian Panucci and Philippe Mexes sent off in the second half. The defeat leaves Luciano Spalletti's men in 14th place of the league table with seven points, three short of Siena. At Stadio Olimpico, Juventus failed to claim all three points for the third successive match. Palermo took the lead midway through the first half when Fabrizio Miccoli struck into an empty net after Gianluigi Buffon blocked Edinson Cavani volley into his path. Juve skipper Alessandro Del Piero drew the Bianconeri level six minutes before the break, thanks to a superb free kick. Few minutes after the equalizer, Juventus' Malian midfielder Mohamed Sissoko received his marching orders for committing a needles foul that brought him a second booking. Georgian striker Levan Mchedlidze netted Palermo's winner nine minutes from time after being set-up by Fabio Simplicio's deft pass.
