Milan defender Alessandro Nesta said he won't come out of international retirement to play for Italy. Widespread reports suggested that Nesta would return to the international fold following the appointment of Marcello Lippi as the world champions' coach. Lippi, who led Italy to World Cup glory in 2006, succeeded Roberto Donadoni, who was sacked after the country's elimination from EURO 2008 quarter-finals. However, the veteran Nesta insisted even that wouldn't convince him play for the Azzurri. "The national team is a closed chapter," the 32-year-old was quoted as saying by Calcio Italia. "Leaving the Azzurri had nothing to do with Roberto Donadoni, I had major physical problems that stopped me from playing." Nesta instead is focused on helping Milan compete for the Serie A title next season. "As we don't have the Champions League as an objective, we can focus on domestic affairs because we haven't done so well in Serie A for a few years."
