Ahli assistant coach Hossam Al-Badri said on Thursday that his side's unimpressive displays lately are down to the players' exhaustion. The Cairo giants eased past Petrojet 3-1 to close on a fourth successive Egyptian League title. Their performance against Petrojet was much better than the recent disappointing shows against Tersana and Telecom Egypt. Al-Badri declared himself pleased with the win over Petrojet while blaming physical and mental fatigue for Ahli's dull displays. "We have been playing for four years in a row without rest," he told the post-match press conference. Two goals from Emad Al-Nahhas and Mohamed Barakat in the first 11 minutes put Ahli in a commanding lead against Petrojet. Emad Meteb added a third in the second-half to put the result beyond doubt. Petrojet notched a consolation through Tamer Adel penalty. "We started well and managed to score two early goals. Unfortunately, the players were overly-confident afterwards, that's why our display was affected." "Ahli players are somewhat bored. It is a natural feeling because they are sure that the league title is theirs," Al-Badri added.
