Middlesbrough striker Jeremie Aliadiere has backed Ahmed Hossam 'Mido' after the Egypt striker was sent-off against Arsenal. "I feel sorry for Mido because I know what he is going through," Aliadiere told the Evening Gazette. "It is hard when you are sent off for something like that." Aliadiere scored Boro's goal in the 1-1 draw with Arsenal. It was his first appearance after serving a four-game ban for a straight red card against Liverpool. The French striker received his marching orders following a challenge on Javier Mascherano. Middlesbrough filed an appeal but the FA increased the ban to four games instead of three after judging the appeal as "frivolous." "I think Mido's red card was even worse than mine to be honest," Aliadiere said. "Hopefully, it will be overturned and he won't have to go through what I did."
