Just 24 hours after announcing a shock decision of quitting Inter Milan at the end of the season, coach Roberto Mancini backtracked on what he said and will extend his stay with the Nerazzurri. “He reiterated that he wants to stay at Inter next year and for all the duration of his contract and that next season he wants to win the Champions League,” Chairman Massimo Moratti was quoted saying on the club's website. The statement said that Moratti had a meeting with the coach and asked him to fulfill his four-year deal. "No one more than president Moratti, all the Inter fans, and our entire squad knows what it feels like to miss out on an objective we all wanted so bad," Mancini said after the meeting. "The team already knows this: we are ready to fight until the last minute, with great intensity to win our third consecutive Scudetto and try to win the Champions League starting next season. Finally, I thank the extraordinary crowd which supported us until the end and applauded us when we left the pitch."
