Feyenoord Egyptian goalkeeper Sherif Ekrami rejected the opportunity to join Belgian side Dender, Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf reported on Friday. The former Ahli guardian was in advanced talks to join Dender after becoming increasingly frustrated at lack of first-team football. According to De Telegraaf, the two clubs almost reached an agreement over Ekrami's move. However, the 24-year-old decided against completing the switch after arriving in Belgium to conclude negotiations. The Dutch paper did not disclose the reason for his refusal. Ekrami will have to spend the second half of the season playing second-fiddle to Feyenoord regular keeper Henk Timmer.
