Amr Zaki says he feels insulted by Ayman Mansour after the Zamalek assistant coach accused him of producing a 'silly act' following the prolific striker's declaration that he would retire. Following Zamalek's 1-1 draw with Suez Cement in the Egyptian League, Zaki hit out at his teammates and revealed his intention to hang up his boots due to the team's poor results. His comments were not welcomed by Mansour, who questioned the Egyptian international contribution since his arrival from Lokomotiv Moscow in the summer of 2006. "Mansour has made too many insults and bad comments against me," Zaki told FilGoal.com on Monday. "I'm not a boy to be treated like that. Although I did nothing wrong, there are certain people in the club who try to ambush me." The 24-year-old was furious with Mansour's comments that he did nothing to the Cairo giants' favor, wondering how an individual can be blamed for the work of an entire team.
"What does he mean by saying that Zamalek have won nothing since my arrival? I'm not playing table tennis to claim trophies alone without the help of my teammates." "Zamalek's accusations are totally untrue. I don't know why chairman Mamdouh Abbas has turned his back on me recently," he added. Apology not on agenda Zaki has previously apologized for his outspoken comments against his teammates, yet he has now made a U-turn on his stance. "I will not apologize because I did nothing wrong. The club should have summoned me to a hearing before deciding to punish me." The former ENPPI man was banned for one month and handed an EGP 45,000 fine after accusing his teammates of lacking unity as well as being unfaithful to their club. "I'm very depressed because Zamalek officials are determined to ruin my career. I have no place here anymore," he concluded.
