Real Madrid are set to make a luxurious offer for Valencia striker David Villa, Spanish sports daily Marca reported on Wednesday. Los Merengues president Ramon Calderon is a firm admirer of the 25-year-old striker and is reportedly willing to spend heavily to acquire his services. It remains to be seen whether Valencia would accept to offload their star, who has a release clause of 150 million euros. Despite spending around 120 million euros in the off-season to strengthen their squad, Primera Liga champions Real still looking for new recruitments. Spanish international striker Villa joined Valencia from Real Zaragoza in 2005 and soon established himself as a key player. He excelled in his first season at the Mestalla, netting 25 goals to finish one goal behind top scorer Samuel Eto'o. Villa continued his impressive run in the following season despite Valencia's failure to secure any silverware.
