Real Madrid chairman Ramon Calderon aims to beef up the team with new signings when the transfer window re-opens in January, according to Spanish radio Marca. The Spanish champions are in dire need to bolster their frontline, as Ruud van Nistelrooy has been sidelined for the remainder of the season due to a serious knee injury. However, Calderon played down reports linking Inter Milan striker Hernan Crespo with an imminent move to Los Merengues. "Crespo wouldn't be compatible with our targets," the Real president said. "We intend to land young players who are able to boost the team on the European stage, like our Argentine duo Fernando Gago Gonzalo Higuain and Brazilian defender Marcelo." Moreover, Calderon revealed that his side are planning to acquire high-profile players in the June transfer window. "By next summer, we are going to buy three or four stars," he added.
