Roma captain Francesco Totti will miss his side's Wednesday Serie A clash at Fiorentina with a thigh injury. Roma coach Luciano Spalletti does not wish to risk last season's top scorer, as the Giallorossi prepare for facing Inter Milan on Saturday and Manchester United next week. Totti's absence spoilt the challenge fueled by Fiorentina striker Adrian Mutu, who claimed that he is better than the Roma ace. "Totti is an excellent goal scorer and a team player, but I think I'm stronger and faster in the final 20 meters," the Romanian told reporters. Roma are currently in charge of the Serie A table with 10 points, and Mutu is aware that snatching the top spot won't be an easy task. "We need to be realistic and be ready for Roma to play great football, they send five or six men forward and any one of them can score. It will be a great game to watch "he said. "It would be great to win on Wednesday and become leaders, but at this stage of the season that isn't what really counts. "I hope we keep growing as a side and can also keep picking up the points away from home." Meanwhile, Roma full-back Marco Cassetti will miss the game with a muscle strain that could keep him out of action for the next three weeks. Veteran defender Christian Panucci is likely to deputize as Cassetti is likely to miss the crucial games against Inter and United.
