Zamalek have signed Ahli's wonder body Sherief Ashraf on a four-year contract, a deal which will reignite the war over players between Egypt's biggest sides. The 20-year-old striker was Ahli's top scorer in youths' competition over the past three seasons, netting 32 times last season and a record 57 goals the year before. Ashraf can be registered in Zamalek's youth ranks at any time and will not occupy a slot in the first team squad, said the club on their official website. Zamalek have been prevailing in the summer transfer market, especially after signing Ahli-target Mahmoud Fathallah from Mahalla, despite an official report published by Ahli's magazine saying that the player is already a Red. Ahli also missed out on Amr Zaki and Mahmoud Abdul-Razek ‘Shikabala' last season after the duo opted to join Zamalek. An Ahli spokesman admitted that the player's contract has ran out but said that Zamalek won't be able to register the player because he is still listed on Ahli's squad.
