Ahmed Abou-Mosallam's Strasbourg have booked their place in the French Ligue 1 following a 2-1 home victory over Metz on Friday. Sebastien Bassong's strike for Metz in the 18th minute cancelled out Renaud Cohade's opener in the 12th minute before Gabonese striker Eric Mouloungui sealed Strasbourg's win in the 24th minute. The win put Strasbourg in second place of the table with 70 points, four ahead of fourth-placed Amiens with just one match remaining. Former Ahli left-back Abou-Mosallam, who excelled with Strasbourg this season, missed the game after sustaining a hamstring injury last month. He will have now the chance to play in the elite competition again after his first season with Strasbourg turned out to be a nightmare as the French outfit were relegated to the second division.
