Anderlecht midfielder Ahmed Hassan insisted on Friday that his current impressive form will not force him reconsider his plan of returning to Egypt in the summer. The Egypt skipper notched two goals in Anderlecht's 6-0 drubbing of Racing Genk in the Belgian Cup, taking his tally to 14 goals in all competitions. "Like I said before, my decision wasn't because I was below-par or I didn't adjust to life in Belgium, it was based on family reasons and it is final," Hassan told FilGoal.com. "I'm very happy to regain top form and goal scoring ability. This performance will help me continue the remaining of the season." Hassan netted a superb lob from 40 yards against Genk, a goal which he described as one of the best in his career. "I saw the keeper off the line and decided to lob him; thankfully it went into the back of the net."
The 31-year-old revealed the reasons behind his remarkable displays. "I got used to life in Belgium and the harmony increased between me and my teammates." "It is normal that any player needs time to adjust, (Chelsea striker) Andriy Shevchenko is a very clear example." Hassan heaped to the praise of Anderlecht fans, who carried a banner containing his picture in a pharaonic dress. "I can't express my feelings towards the fans, they are doing their best to keep me at the club. We have to deliver success for their sake," he added.
