Ahmed Hassan notched his first hat-trick for Anderlecht to help them claim a hard-fought 3-2 victory over Charleroi in the Belgian League on Saturday. The Egypt skipper put Anderlecht ahead in the 12th minute when he nodded in a corner-kick but was cancelled out by Fabien Camus's strike nine minutes past the hour mark. Hassan restored the lead for the hosts ten minutes later after he went face-to-face with the keeper, who blocked his initial effort but the former Besiktas midfielder made no mistake in the second attempt. Brice Jovial equalized again for Charleroi in the 86th minute time but Hassan came to Anderlecht's rescue one minute from time after he fired a powerful long-range drive into the back of the net. The 31-year-old scored nine goals the Belgian champions in the league so far. The win put Anderlecht in second place of the league table with 54 points, just two adrift of leaders Racing Genk, who thrashed Beveren 5-0.
