Anderlecht maintained their position on top of the Belgian League after grabbing a hard-fought 1-0 away victory over Cercle Bruges on Friday. Congolese striker Mohamed Tchite notched what proved to be the winner in the 14th minute. Egypt skipper Ahmed Hassan started the game and was replaced one minute before the final whistle. The defending champions are in charge of the league table with 65 points, five ahead of second-placed Racing Genk who face Westerlo on Sunday. Anderlecht take on Standard Liege in the first-leg of the Belgian Cup semi-final on Tuesday.
