Egypt international Ahmed Hassan inspired title holder Anderlecht to a 1-0 victory over local rival Club Bruges in the Belgian league on Sunday. Hassan dished out an assist to Congolese striker Mohamed Tchite who netted Anderlecht's winner in the 56th minute. The win maintained Anderlecht's perfect record in the local league as they raised their tally to 12 points to remain in pole position.
The 31-year-old Hassan showed tremendous form and startled Bruges' defenders with his wizardry and created a number of chances for his teammates who couldn't find the net. Things changed in the 56th minute when Hassan darted down the left flank and sidestepped three defenders before sending a cross to the onrushing Tchite who nodded the ball home. The goal increased Tchite's goal tally to 5, leading the scorer's list in the Belgian league.
