Jose to extend contract with Ahli- source

Manuel Jose has reached an agreement with Ahli to pen a one-year contract extension, a source close to the Portuguese manager said on Wednesday.
The source told FilGoal.com that Jose is ready to sign the new deal subject to being paid his monthly salary in euros instead of US dollars.
Reports linked Jose, whose deal runs out at the end of the season, with a move away from Ahli after winning a second consecutive CAF Champions League title in November.
Egyptian papers quoted Jose as saying that he would depart the Red Devils but the former Sporting Lisbon boss refuted these allegations.
Jose took charge of Ahli in 2001 and guided the club to Champions League triumph in the same year before winning the African Super Cup one year later.
After losing the 2002 Egyptian League title in the last match, Jose was axed but without him Ahli have endured a disappointing run in both local and continental competitions.
He returned back to Ahli in 2004 where he enjoyed a tremendous campaign, winning back-to-back Champions League titles, two consecutive league triumphs, one Egyptian Cup, two local Super Cups as well as two African Super Cup titles.
