Arsenal secured their place in the Carling Cup final on Wednesday after beating Tottenham 3-1 in extra time at the Emirates Stadium. Arsenal, who drew 2-2 in last week's semi-final first leg at White Harte Lane, advanced to the final with a 5-3 aggregate win. Togolese striker Emmanuel Adebayor fired the Gunners ahead in the 77th minute but Egyptian international Mido came off the bench to register the equalizer with five minutes to play in the second-leg. Mido's goal sent the game into overtime where Tottenham failed to keep up with Arsenal's ferocious attacks. French striker Jeremie Aliadiere capitalized on a mistake from newly-acquired Tottenham defender Ricardo Rocha to regain the lead for Arsenal in the 105th minute. Tomas Rosicky hammered the last nail in Tottenham's coffin when he added the third with 7 minutes to play. His initial effort hit the woodwork but found its way over Paul Robinson's goal line when the hapless Pascal Chimbonda tried to clear the ball. Arsenal will take on London-rivals Chelsea in the final on February 25th in Cardiff.
