Germany international Miroslav Klose notched a brace to help Werder Bremen beat Hertha Berlin 3-1 at home and move into the top of the Bundesliga table on Saturday. Brazilian midfielder Ribas Diego put the hosts ahead from the penalty spot in the 23rd minute but Hertha defender Josip Simunic leveled the score two minutes later. In-form Klose scored in the 31st and 40th minutes to lead Bremen to a precious win. Egyptian forward Mohamed Zidan did not play as he hasn't restored his fitness yet after recovering from injury. The result put Bremen temporarily in charge of the table with 30 points, one ahead of Schalke, who face Nuernberg on Sunday. Elsewhere, Bayern Munich were held to a 1-1 draw by Borussia Monchengladbach at the Allianz Arena. Michael Delura's goal for Monchengladbach in the 33rd minute cancelled out Martin Demichelis opener in the 23rd minute. Bayern are fourth with 27 points while Monchengladbach lie third from bottom on 14 points.
