Bayern Munich are interested in signing Manchester United striker Ruud van Nistelrooy, the German champions said on Monday. "The player wants to come to us we know that," Bayern president Karl-Heinz Rummenigge was quoted as saying by the club's website. "Now we will approach the thing with all calm. We have to speak with the player and naturally with Manchester United but there are no grounds for haste." Van Nistelrooy is reportedly keen on a move outside Old Trafford after his repeated fall-outs with Manchester manager Alex Ferguson left him on the bench for the majority of the campaign. The 31-year-old forward played with Holland in the 2006 World Cup but scored only once against Ivory Coast. No comment from the player or United has been issued.
