Bayern Munich are interested in signing Chelsea' winger Arjen Robben in a deal that could see Owen Hargreaves heads to the opposite direction, German newspaper Bild reported on Friday. Robben has been constantly used by coach Jose Mourinho since arriving from PSV Eindhoven in 2004 but the arrival of Michael Ballack and Andriy Shevchenko at the beginning of this season hampered his position in the starting line-up. "He is a good player, very good dribbler and quick," Bayern coach Felix Magath said. The German giants' chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge also admires the 22-year-old Dutchman.
Hagreaves "He is an interesting player, that every team would fear to face," he said. Bild has also stated that English champions Chelsea want to lure Manchester United target Hargreaves to the Stamford Bridge. The English international midfielder was desperate for a move to United in the off-season in order to return home but Bayern rejected any prospect of selling him. United coach Alex Ferguson did not give up and hinted that his side are still interested in another approach in the January transfer window. However, Bayern could not forget United's stance of selling Ruud van Nistelrooy to Real Madrid instead of the Bavarian giants and therefore could allow Hargeaves's move to Chelsea, according to Bild.
