Lyon were crowned French champions for the fifth consecutive season after their closest challengers Bordeaux lost 3-2 to Lille on Saturday. The defeat froze Bordeaux's point tally on 61 points, leaving runaway leaders Lyon 14 points clear at the top, with just four matches to go. Peter Odemwingie scored twice for Lille and Mathieu Bodmer added the third while Jean-Claude Darcheville and Julien Faubert were on target for Bordeaux. Lyon are yet to play Paris St. Germain on Sunday when they can celebrate their already-won title. The Champions League quarter-finalists beat the records of St Etienne and Olympique Marseille, both winning the domestic titles for four successive seasons.
