Abdul-Hamid Bassiouny scored a hat-trick as Harras Al-Hodoud produced a 6-0 drubbing of Guinean guests AS Kaloum in the African Confederation Cup on Saturday. Ahmed Abdul-Ghani had a double and international striker Ahmed Eid was also on the score sheet. The comfortable victory almost secured a place for Al-Hodoud in the round of 16 before they play the second in Guinea after two weeks. Eid scored on of the African competitions' fastest goals ever when he broke the deadlock just ten seconds after the starting whistle. He scuffed a loose ball after a string of poor passes by Kaloum defense and arrowed a low ball home.
In the 10th minute, Abdul-Ghani towered above the Kaloum static back four to head home past the helpless goalkeeper. Substitute Bassiouny made it three up in the 64th minute when he steered a powerful header into the back of the net. The veteran striker widened the gap in the 77th minute after successfully converting a penalty-kick home. In the 82nd minute, Abdul-Ghani registered his second goal of the match as he rounded a defender inside the box and curled a low shot into the far angle of the net. Two minutes later, Bassiouny put the final nail in Kaloum's coffin as he connected with a fine cross from Amr Al-Dali and sent a first-timer home.
