Ittihad Alexandria crushed Rayon Sports of Rwanda 3-0 on Sunday and qualified to the round of 16 of the African Confederation Cup. Mohamed Farouk posted a brace while Ghanaian striker Samuel Kyere was also on the score sheet as Ittihad advanced on a 3-1 aggregate victory. Farouk headed home in the 17th minute to break the deadlock before Kyere benefited from a goal-mouth scramble to double the lead seven minutes before the interval. Former Ahli striker Farouk capitalized on a dreadful error from the guests' keeper to steer another header into the back of the net. Meanwhile, Harras Al-Hodoud edged Kaloum of Guinea 1-0 away to reach the same stage of the tournament. Ahmed Samir scored the winner in the 17th minute to seal the huge 7-0 aggregate drubbing.
