Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard said on Saturday that he wishes Arsenal can march on to win the UEFA Champions League after his side bowed out of the tournament. "Arsenal have got a difficult game, Juve are a strong team but hopefully Arsenal can do England proud and go as far as possible," Gerrard told Sky Sports News. "It's good for English football when teams do well and Arsenal have definitely got the players to go all the way if they keep Thierry Henry and other match winners fit."
Henry Title holders Liverpool lost to Portuguese Benfica 3-0 on aggregate to exit the tournament from the round of 16 while Arsenal edged 1-0 past Real Madrid to make their third appearance ever in the last eight. The England midfielder, however, said his side is looking forward to make up for the European setback with a victory over Arsenal at Highbury when the two clubs play on Sunday. "Hopefully they're still celebrating from qualifying and we can get three points off them but it's a massive game for us at Highbury because we want to finish second in the league."
