Ahli striker Jawad Akdar scored from the spot five minutes from time to give his side an exciting 2-2 draw against arch-rivals Ittihad in the Jeddah derby. Ahli captain Hussen Abdul-Ghani put his side in front in the 29th minute before Sierra Leone striker leveled in the 54th minute from a penalty-kick. Ittihad skipper Mohamed Nour snatched the lead two minutes later and his side looked on their way to victory but substitute Akdar had yet plenty to do. The Moroccan player shoved his way into the area only for Ittihad keeper Taysir Al-Natif to down him. Al-Natif was sent-off and Ahli were awarded a penalty-kick that Akdar successfully converted past defender Ahmed Al-Doukhi, who acted as goalkeeper as Ittihad ran out of substitutions. Ittihad are placed third with 30 points and still have three matches in hand while Ahli are fourth one point behind.
