Pascal Feindouno scored an injury time goal to give Guinea a hard fought 2-1 over Zambia in their African Cup of Nations Group C match on Thursday. Feindouno had put the Guineans at level in the 74th minute to cancel out Elijah Tana first-half opener for Zambia. The win raised Guinea's point tally to 6 in first place tentatively while Zambia remain without any points from two matches at the bottom of the table. Guinea will clinch their second round berth if Tunisia beat South Africa or the two sides tie in the second Group C match later on Thursday. The game witnessed a host of missed chances for both sides who displayed tremendous pace and talent but lacked the final touch.
Captain Tana put Zambia ahead in the 35th minute when he headed home from a James Chamanga's corner-kick. Feindouno put Guinea at level from the penalty spot after Mansare was brought down by Zambia's goalkeeper George Kolola in the 74th minute. Just when everyone thought the game will end in a draw, Feindouno stunned the Zambians with a brilliant strike. The St Etienne striker pounced on a loose ball at the edge of the area and unleashed a fierce drive that the underside of the bar before crossing the goal line. It was a flashback for the Zambians who went a goal ahead in their first game against Tunisia before losing 4-1.
