Senegal came from a goal down to edge Guinea into the African Cup of Nations (ACN) semi-finals with a 3-2 victory in the quarter-final match that took place on Friday. Kaba Diawara and Pascal Feindouno scored Guinea's two goals in the 24th and 95th minute while Papa Diop, Mamadou Niang and Henri Camara scored a goal each to secure Senegal's passage to the semi-finals in the 61st, 83rd and 93rd minutes. Senegal will next face the winners of the Egypt and DR Congo encounter in the quarter-finals on Friday, in the semi-final match that will take place on Tuesday. Senegal were off to an excelled start, taking on the offensive approach against Guinea, when Diawara opened the score for the Guineans in the 24th minute after capitalising on a mistake by Senegal goalkeeper Tony Sylva.

Camara shocked Guinea with Senegal's third goal from a close range shot deep into injury time, that left goalkeeper Naby Diarso licking his wounds after conceding three goals. Feindouno netted a late consolation goal for Guinea with an inch-perfect shot from a spot-kick right outside the box. On the other hand, Senegal's El-Hadji Diouf got into a scuffle with several Guinean players after the match for overtly celebrating his side's victory.
