Abd-Rabou to join the national team on Friday, Shehata snubs Ghali

Strasbourg midfielder Hosni Abd-Rabou has been included in the Egyptian squad for the African Cup of Nations (ACN), assistant coach Shawki Gharib announced.
"Hosni will link up with Egypt's camp in Alexandria on Friday and he maybe able to participate in the friendly against Nigeria on January 14th," Gharib told Filgoal.com on Monday.
"Hosni will be certainly included in the final squad for the ACN," he added.
The 21-year-old was doubtful for Egypt after sustaining an injury in Strasbourg's Ligue 1 match against Marseille and was initially ruled out for a month.

Ghali is out of the Egypt squad
Filgoal.com also learnt that Egypt's coaching staff has excluded Feyenoord midfielder Hossam Ghali for "technical reasons", as well as Mainz forward Mohamed Zidan who did not reply to Egypt's call-up.
On the other hand, the Egyptian team commenced their training in Alexandria up until the international friendly against Zimbabwe on Thursday.
Egypt manager Hassan Shehata decided not to make a lot of changes in his line-up for Thursday's game to bring stability to the squad ahead of the African tournament.
The ACN will take place in Egypt with the participation of 16 teams from January 20th to February 10th.
