Egypt coach Hassan Shehata has tentatively chosen his squad for the upcoming African Cup of Nations (ACN), a national team coaching staff member said on Wednesday. The insider source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told Filgoal.com that Shehata is virtually decided on the 23 players he will include in the African squad pending any injuries or circumstances. Filgoal.com understands that the Egypt boss has decided to exclude: Mostafa Kamal, Mohamed “Hamada” Yousef, Ahmed Abou-Mosallam, Osama Hosni and Abdul-Halim Ali. The five players join Rizespor defender Beshir El-Tabei and Mainz forward Mohamed Zidan who were previously omitted by Shehata. Tottenham striker Ahmed Hossam “Mido” and Strasbourg midfielder Hosni Abd-Rabou are set to join the Egyptian squad later this week.
