Ahmed Elmohamady featured for the whole game to help Hull City claim a narrow 1-0 victory over old club Sunderland in the English Premier League. The sole goal of the game came after Sunderland defender Carlos Cuellar headed into his own net Liam Rosenior's cross from the right on 25 minutes. Elmo was involved in Sunderland's red card after being cynically fouled by English midfielder Lee Cattermole who received his marching orders. The Black Cats were then further reduced to nine men just two minutes later when defender Andrea Dossena saw red for another fierce foul against David Meyler on the stroke of half time. Despite playing for nine minutes in the Tigers' League Cup defeat to Spurs just two days ago, Egypt forward Geddo still struggled to make his Premier League debut as he remained benched throughout the match. Hull climbed to 10th place on 14 points of the league standings as they visit Southampton next week.
