A host of Ghanaian fans have been egging on the Egypt team in training ahead of this week's World Cup qualifying playoff first leg in Kumasi. According to the FA website, several home fans were seen waving the Egyptian flag during training as some have cheered stars Mohamed Abou-Treika, Geddo and Amr Zaki. The likes Abou-Treika and Zaki are already known to Ghana fans, having dazzled in Egypt's triumphant Africa Cup of Nations campaign in Kumasi and Accra.
Egypt team well greeted in Kumasi Abou-Treika was even asked by some fans to give them his number 22 shirt as the Egypt veteran received a special welcome at the Baba Yara Stadium. Meanwhile, Hull City forward Geddo has sat out Sunday's session after being hit by flu. Egypt, who have yet to make a single World Cup appearance since 1990, face Ghana on Tuesday as the return leg takes place on November 19.
