Zamalek registered a thumping 4-1 victory over Congo's Leopards in the CAF Champions League final group game as Ahli drew 0-0 at Orlando Pirates. Zamalek, who were already eliminated from the competition, came back from behind to secure their seventh point and finish in third place. In Johannesburg, Ahli could not avenge their 3-0 home defeat to Pirates, even so the defending champions managed to go through as group leaders. After their embarrassing defeat to arch-rivals Ahli last week, Zamalek found themselves behind after Rudy Ndey gave Leopards the lead in Gouna. But the Whites came back emphatically, with Shikabala and Mohamed Ibrahim turning the scoreline before half time. Under-fire striker Ahmed Gaafar hit a brace to complete the rout and finish the campaign as Zamalek's top scorer. The results mean that Ahli have avoided a crunch semi-final clash against Tunisia's Esperance as the holders take on Cameroon's Cotonsport in the last four. South Africa's Orland Pirates will have to settle for a meeting against two-time champions Esperance. Zamalek 4-1 Leopards
